Aaron Wood’s (@ellbbww) contemporary jazz-rock quintet artephis has just released a brand new version of his tune ‘Selfdom’, which he wrote about a year ago to play in Bergen, Norway. It’s been re-recorded with The Untold Orchestra, and it’s absolutely beautiful. It moves between an opening filled with intense, orchestral colour evoking vast landscapes to a lilting, chattering groove that expands out into some intense solos on keys and trumpet. Aaron’s playing is clear proof as to why he’s becoming one of the hottest trumpet players on the Manchester scene right now.
