Leeds-based crossover instrumental group Têtes de Pois have released their latest single following a string of video releases from festival appearances this summer. From its toe-tapping woodblock and lilting bassline at the start, to the buttery-smooth and breathy backings halfway through, ‘Hope’ delivers mood changes with panache. Otis Mensah proves his worth as Sheffield’s Poet Laureate, riding this group’s energy and creating a rhythmic and thought-provoking buzz. Whilst he may say there’s ‘no hope’, this track definitely proves otherwise – these pea heads are showing us they are as fresh as ever.
